“There is no Donna at Donna’s. The trio behind the new Wallace Emerson restaurant chose the name to evoke “a fun young grandma” who once boogied in discotheques and now travels the world. But if there really were a Donna, “she’d be pretty eclectic, friendly and want to give everybody a hug,” says co-owner Jed Smith, 32. The 30-seat location shares an intersection with a churrasqueria, a Portuguese travel agency and a hipster espresso bar. Donna’s earns points for its quinoa salad ($10) with roasted persimmons, the best version I’ve had ever. It works because of the fermented chili vinaigrette, the crunch of raw celery and the oodles of fresh mint and flat-leaf parsley. It’s fresh tasting, inspired, wholesome.” - Amy Pataki, The Star, January 26th, 2019 / Crédit photos :Donna's
